The Basics:
Your name and age: Jamie, age 22
Your partner's name and age: Pete, age 28
Your 2004 baby's name and birthdate: Caitlin Maria Elise, born January 5th 2004
What do you remember about your pregnancy and birth? I had pre-eclampsia, was admitted to hospital as an in-patient at 33 weeks, got more and more ill, eventually my blood pressure shot up so much they tried to induce me at 35 weeks, Caitlin's heartbeat dropped during the induction so I was rushed in for an emergency caesarean.

The Silly Stuff:
If your baby was an animal s/he'd be... Hmm I dunno. A tiger maybe. Heheh <33
You and your baby are stranded on a desert island. What one thing do you both need (can't live without)? Urm...CBeebies? :)

The Controversial Stuff We Are All Mature Enough to Discuss Without Being Mean or Getting Hurt:
Breast or bottle?
I wanted to breast feed, but was in a morphine induced state for four days after Caitlin was born so hurriedly (because pre-eclampsia gets worse before it gets better) so they had to start feeding her with a bottle, and I just carried on

Co-sleep, CIO or somewhere in between?
Caitlin goes to sleep in her own bed, but every night will wake up at some point and come through to our bed. We were in a top floor 1 bedroom flat until September 2006 so she was over 2.5 yrs old by the time she got her own bedroom

Cut or uncut? n/a
Vax, delayed vax, no vax? As in vaccinations? Yes
Cloth or 'sposies? Disposables as a baby, underwear now :)
Single parent? Nope
Young parent? Yes, I was 18 when I was pregnant, and 19 when she was born

Has anyone started training their 2 year old to go on the potty, and if so, is it working for you? What styles do you use for boys, how do you get them to go!

My son is 2 1/2 now. I've just come to realize, maybe a bit late, that he has outgrown his Baby Einstein videos. While they still entertain him, they don't educate him anymore. They seem to primarily teach what objects are, and now that he knows these things, they are little more than just pretty pictures to watch. I might as well be plopping him down in front of Cartoon Network, which totally defeats the purpose of an educational video. So, my question to you is this: Aside from Sesame Street, (not that I'm against Sesame Street, just that I already know they exist and have placed an order for a few tapes.) what is your favorite educational video for the older toddler to preschool age child? I'd prefer something that is entertaining for the child, but not necessarily so annoying to the adult that we would rather listen to fingernails on chalk board. In other words, no Barney or stuff like that. My son is very interested in the alphabet, numbers, learning new words, etc. just like any other toddler. Also, I'm interested in something with rhyming words. My son has a bit of a delay in speech and also social interaction which we are working on, and I think getting into videos that show people and kids conversing interacting with eachother will help, and also anything that enunciates words well will help him with his prononciation... I don't have cable, and I'm not planning to get it. It's too expensive. I just want to be able to go online and buy it, or go to a store or whatever.

Also, I'm not trying to start a debate here about whether or not TV is good for kids... really. I don't let my son watch that much, but what I do let him watch I want him to learn something from. Not that I have to defend myself, but I know it'll get asked, so there it is. Anyway, please... lets not start a war here. I just want some good advice. K? TIA, everyone.

The Basics:
Your name and age: Brandy, 21
Your partner's name and age: Danny, 25
Your 2004 baby's name and birthdate: Hayden Daniel, May 26th 2004

What do you remember about your pregnancy and birth? I had pre-eclampsia and eventually eclampsia so it wasn't a pleasant pregnancy. I remember every movement he made like it all just happened yesterday though, I was always trying to guess which part of him he had trying to plunge out of my belly. lol

The Silly Stuff:
If your baby was an animal s/he'd be...a monkey: He is insane! lol He climbs everything, once climbed onto the third shelf of the bookcase and at 9 months got inside his windowsill from his crib. He's always jumping and has everlasting energy.

You and your baby are stranded on a desert island. What one thing do you both need (can't live without)? A book, we both love them. :)

The Controversial Stuff We Are All Mature Enough to Discuss Without Being Mean or Getting Hurt:
Breast or bottle? I am guessing you are asking what we did, not what we believe is best? If that is the case, we did both.
Co-sleep, CIO or somewhere in between? Co-sleep almost until he was 2. But we did let him CIO when we wanted the bed to ourselves some nights.
Cut or uncut? UNCUT, all natural, I loved him the way he was born, perfect. :)
Vax, delayed vax, no vax? Vax
Cloth or 'sposies? Now undies but as a baby, disposables
Single parent? No, happily married.
Young parent? Yes, I had him when I was 19.

What do you remember about your pregnancy and birth?
We had a high-risk pregnancy... so lots of bedrest! The birth.. during labor - the amazing bond I felt with my husband... and when Ryan was born.. a cross between joy and disbelief that I had just birthed a child. lol

The Silly Stuff:
If your baby was an animal she'd be... a horse: a kangaroo. He likes to jump around the house with his hands made into a pouch.. filled with his cars, letters or numbers.. lol

You and your baby are stranded on a desert island. What one thing do you both need (can't live without)? something to draw with!

Help!! My daughter is going through this naked phase. I have run out of ideas. Every night after i put her to bed she takes off every stitch of clothing...including her diaper. She is almost potty trained so she hates the diaper, but has to still wear at bedtimes. I go in everynight and she is stark naked sleeping on her bed. I dress her and put her back to bed at least twice before I go to bed. Morning comes and she comes toddling out of her room....NAKED as a jaybird. With pee soaked sheets and a pee soaked blankie. I dont know hot to get her to stop. I even put onsies on her backwards....but she is like houdini and can slip out of any clothing. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions? She is my FOURTH child....but the only one to ever do this....i guess she just loves being nakie!

Does anyone do any kind of exercises with your toddler? I am just looking for something we could do together. I used to go to health club before my daughter was born... Now I would rather do something at home. She seems to enjoy stretching and jumping. Maybe there are some videos or books you would recommend? Any info appreciated :-)

I totally forgot about this! The other day my daughter had a checkup and had to get a shot. She just turned 2 and cried at first when she saw the doctor. But when it comes time to get the shot, she didn't even cry! She didn't cry. I was never more proud and heartbroken at the same time! She is just becoming more and more independent each day.
